Best Wedding Photography 2020- Devon

Thanks so much for dropping by to have a look at my best of wedding photography in Devon from last year.

Well, 2020 was certainly a bit of a crazy year, to say the least. It’s been such a struggle for so many people and I feel so much empathy for all my couples who have had to re-arrange and change their plans this year. I ended up shooting 8 small weddings in total and having to reschedule, cancel and reschedule again 21 wedding day plans. I also went the longest time not shooting a wedding in about 14 years, from 21st March until 5th September. That return for me was so special and made me value what I do more than ever.

The biggest thank you as always goes to all the lovely couples that had me as their wedding photographer in 2020 and trusting me to photograph their wedding day, it means everything to me and I completely loved being a part of each and every single wedding. I felt even more responsibility than ever this year to tell their story for all of their family and friends that couldn’t attend the wedding day and to capture it through the beauty of photography. Also, a huge thank you to all the couples that worked with me to rearrange their plans for 2021, I can’t wait to finally share and document your weddings in the coming year, we will get there eventually I promise.

A huge thanks also for the support shown by the venues I work with and all the other suppliers out there who have helped me and each other get through this year, I really appreciate it.

These 8 weddings were filled with wonderful highlights for me and I loved how creative some couples were with their plans- couples having their first dance on a beach; elopements with outdoor ceremonies overlooking the sea; couples having a mini reception in their own backyard; a bride visiting and riding her black stallion in her wedding dress; storm Dennis back in February and only being able to take 3 photos outside all day; the funkiest relaxed outfits and many more memories, it was a complete joy capturing all of these moments.

This year gave me the opportunity to finally officially launch my family portraits and it was so lovely to meet up with lots of couples after photographing their weddings some years ago. I completely loved meeting their children and capturing some super relaxed photos of them all as a family with great adventures down at the beach, at their homes and some local woods. I’m really looking forward to growing this side of my photography over the coming years.

I was super happy and honoured to win some more awards this year from This is Reportage and Ninedots, for images voted out of thousands of images from some of the best photographers in the world, with just 3% picking up an award. It’s always very rewarding winning these awards.

So here’s to 2021, I hope with all my heart that this year sees us return to something more normal. I have some exciting plans coming up this year, a new website on the horizon with some new brand visuals. I’m still here for everyone, all my couples, past and present, all the suppliers I work with and friends in the industry, we will all get through this together. Let’s all stay positive, be kind, be strong and love each other. Big love and stay safe everyone ❤️

Here are some of my favourites from the last year, I hope you enjoy looking through these…
