Bovey Castle Elopement Wedding Photographer, Devon- Amanda & Roy
I absolutely love weddings at Bovey Castle and was very excited to be asked to be the photographer for Amanda and Roy’s very intimate elopement. Amanda and Roy live in the US and had had a dream to come and over and marry in Europe and finally decided on Bovey Castle, and what a great choice that was!! I’m very happy to be a preferred and recommended photographer at Bovey Castle and I’m a frequent visitor to this stunning venue.
I’ve been itching to show this beautiful wedding but have had to wait for the nod once everybody had been told, so very excited to show more images now. Wow, this wedding was very special and Amanda and Roy are such a lovely couple. It’s always an honour to be asked to photograph any wedding and this was even more so considering the intimateness of the day and also that so much had been put into the planning of the elopement. I was asked to photograph over 2 days with a couple of hours on each day, a pre-wedding shoot on the Monday and then to document the ceremony on the Tuesday. Just the 2 of them on the Monday and then 2 witnesses and friends in attendance for the ceremony. It’s always so important for me to make couples feel relaxed so that I can capture their real personalities, so I can tell a real story of their wedding, their relationship and their experience, as opposed to the more formal posed type shoot and really hope that comes through in my photography.
We were blessed with amazing weather, my good luck continues, probably with the best 2 consecutive days this year so far. I adore a sunny wedding and love using the light that it gives, such punchy beautiful colours. Amanda and Roy looked absolutely stunning and immaculately dressed so the documentation almost plays like a fashion wedding shoot, just a little better as very real:) And Bovey Castle is looking more amazing than ever after it’s re-launch since Eden Hotels have taken it on, I was very happy to be asked to document the Launch Party last month on another wonderful sunny day:)
Huge congratulations again to the very happy couple, it was an absolute pleasure getting to know you and an honour to share your very special elopement with you. They ended up with nearly 500 images from the few hours I covered, but here’s a little look at some of my favourites…
