Branscombe Church and Rockbeare Manor Wedding- Abi & Pete
I’m super excited to show this wedding I photographed at Branscombe Church and Rockbeare Manor in Devon back in June this year. We have been completely blessed with the best Summer I can remember this year and I love nothing more than a hot sunny day with beautiful blue skies to celebrate a wedding day.
“Will, the photos are SO fantastic!!!! You have captured exactly what we wanted the day to be about- so many fun, natural shots and so beautiful!! Thanks again so much for everything, Abi and Pete.”
I met Abi a few years ago at a venue wedding open day and it was lovely to hear back from her once all their plans were set. They are based over in the US and Pete is an American who is in the United States Air Force working as a pilot. When I heard this I was very excited as I used to go to airshows with my Dad and Brother when we were young and I think most boys often dream of becoming a fighter pilot. My excitement grew even more once we all met up to hear he flies F15’s, all pretty flipping cool I think if we skirt over the actual realities of what this role sometimes involves. Anyway, Abi and Pete are a gorgeous, warm, relaxed couple and this wedding rocked.
Branscombe
If you haven’t visited Branscombe before I suggest you go and have a little look. I absolutely love Branscombe and often visit here with the family and children for lunch and to have a walk down to the beach for a swim and ice cream. Abi and Pete got married in Saint Winifred’s Church at Branscombe, my first wedding here, although I now have another booked in for next year so can’t wait for that one too.
Abi’s parents have a house nearby in Branscombe and Pete had also proposed up on top of the hill down at Branscombe beach so it all was laid out perfectly, with plans to pop down to the beach after the ceremony. I always love hitting the beach for some couple shots and we completely lucked out with the most perfect day for this, if not dare I say it, a little too hot! Never!
Beach Portraits
Ice cream, blue skies, beautiful sea, amazing scenery and a few cows made our little trip down to the beach pretty perfect and we even managed to mooch half way up the hill to near where Pete proposed to get a few shots up there. I love this place.
Regency Manor House
I love photographing weddings at Rockbeare Manor and I’m very happy to be a preferred and recommended photographer for this exquisite venue. We are spoilt with lots of stunning venues in Devon and I really look forward to photographing lots more weddings here next year. All guests made their way to Rockbeare for the drinks reception and some delicious food to follow- I always really love a venue that gives me a starter, main and dessert, thank you.
Some great speeches followed with lots of laughter and some more tender moments. The evening entertainment was in the form of a Ceilidh which is always great fun and gets everybody involved and was a nod back to Abi and Pete’s time back at St Andrews where they met at University.
Stunning sunset
To top the day off we had a little cloud move in at exactly the right moment to give us the most amazing sundown. I always completely love capturing some beautiful portraits of my couples at this time of day and giving them something really special that they have never seen before of themselves. We all just hung around outside for a quite a time as it was such a beautiful evening and lovely to see the sky change as the sun slowly dropped over the horizon.
I loved being a part of Abi and Pete’s day, they are a really beautiful happy couple and it was such an honour to be involved in their special day.
Here are a few of my favourite moments from their wedding day which I hope you enjoy…
