Upton Barn Winter Wedding- Jess & Dan

I love photographing weddings at Upton Barn & Walled Garden near Cullompton in Devon, where I’m very happy to be a recommended and preferred photographer. Jess and Dan are such a beautiful couple and it was a real pleasure to share their day with them both and all their family and friends. Their wedding took place in December and I’m really excited to show some more photographs from their special day.

Church Ceremony

Jess, with all her Bridesmaids, got ready at her family home in Stoke Cannon just outside Exeter, before the wedding ceremony, which took place at St Mary Magdalene Church just down the road. It’s always really great when the Reverend and Vicars will let you get close to the action in a Church and Katie was very relaxed, so thank you. I love the access to the balcony as well meaning I could get some lovely wide ariel shots of the couple during the service too.

Unique Barn and restored Garden

After confetti celebrations, it was back to the relaxed setting of Upton Barn for the wedding reception. The Cider Barn looked completely beautiful laid out ready for the wedding breakfast. The barn has been lovingly restored with traditional oak beams and full height glazing at the opening giving stunning views out into the garden and surrounding countryside. Even in the winter I will always try and get outside for some photographs of the couple and also any formal family shots that may be required. Upton’s Walled Garden provides the perfect backdrop for these shots and I particularly love the beautifully handcrafted glazed oak arbour that sits at the bottom of the garden.

Clare and Richard have done an amazing job and it’s always a pleasure to see them. I know they have big plans for opening The Stable Barn as an addition to this so watch this space.

Speeches and Sparklers

The speeches are always one of my favourite moments during the wedding day and I really enjoyed capturing the laughter and emotion during these. The best man was definitely on very good form.

Lots of drinks, fun and sparklers followed before one of my favourite first dances of last year.

I always feel so lucky and fortunate that I am able to do a job that I absolutely love and that couples trust me to do my thing and capture their day so naturally.
